LIFELINE CRISIS CHAT - The goal of the Lifeline Crisis Chat service is to help you reduce stress and feel empowered to make healthy decisions. You will be asked questions regarding your safety, emotions and thoughts surrounding the situation, feelings of depression, your current social situation, and if you have any thoughts of suicide. If a chat specialist feels you are in danger they will speak with you about accessing emergency services, and/or additional contact information to ensure your safety. The chat specialist will work with you to create a safety plan if necessary. If the chat service is not open we encourage you to call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1800.273.8255.

The Crouse Hospital Emergency Department provides emergency services and assessment for all medical emergencies. There are no inpatient psychiatric services in-house. It is the closest emergency room to campus.

CPEP is a licensed Psychiatric Emergency room, serving individuals from Onondaga and Madison counties, and visitors in the Greater Syracuse area. CPEP is fully staffed 24 hours a day, seven days per week. CPEP provides evaluation and treatment for individuals of all ages who are suffering from an acute mental health crisis.

Inpatient Adult Psychiatry (4B) admits both voluntary and involuntary patients eighteen years and older with a wide variety of psychiatric and substance abuse/dependence disorders. While such problems are the primary reason for admission, many patients have additional medical needs. 315.464.9096
